The Internationale Bund(IB) was founded in 1949. In its youth community organizations, it housed tens of thousands of young people without parents, homes or jobs, educated them and showed them new perspectives.
Today, the IB is a large and efficient organization with decades of experience in working with people in difficult situations, in social commitment and in assuming social responsibility. It maintains around 900 facilities at 300 locations nationwide, including its own schools, academies and universities. The Group's headquarters are in Frankfurt am Main.
We support people in achieving their own goals and thus lead them to a successful future. In doing so, we impart knowledge and show new perspectives.
We promote social and cultural diversity and perceive each person individually.
We help our clients to find their place in our society and to feel comfortable without having to give up their own identity. We offer an environment in which differences are not perceived negatively, but become enriching for all.
We take on important social tasks and thus carry social responsibility. With us, everyone - regardless of their personal background - finds fair opportunities and safety.
For more than 70 years, the IB has been growing within Germany, but also internationally. Starting with youth social work in the post-war period, through language and vocational support around the 1950s, it has arrived at 14,000 employees at 1,000 locations with 2,400 projects. In 1989, 92 international programs and workshops were already taking place.
The IB network has been developing since day one in the field of job training. The IB has always been a pioneer and supports the actors of the labor market. The labor migration in the 50s and 60s was accompanied by the IB. Foreign professionals find their way to the German labor market in a sustainable way through the IB.
